I love Tahki cotton yarns and have made several projects with them. The problem I had was that the colors in the catalog did not match the actual color of the yarn when it arrived.
I love this yarn for babies’ and children’s projects. The colors are bright and do not fade after washing. I have made many baby blankets and children’s sweaters and have never been disappointed with the results.
I have been using this yarn for over 5 years to make baby blankets. Here is pic of blanket #30! I love it and so do the babies!
I LOVE Cotton Classic by Tahki Yarns!! I use it for my afghans by mixing it with my Lily's Sugar 'n Cream yarns. A few months back, the yarn companies I purchase it from was low in stock. I feared it would never be back in stock. Now that it's back, I'm in HOG HEAVEN!!! I'm purchasing as many colors as my pay check will allow. My recent order looks awesome out of the shipping package on my project space. I'm so glad the inventories have been replenished.
This yarn has a wonderful sheen, both raw in the skein and when worked up into a garment, and a firmly constructed feel to the yarn itself. Once made into a garment, the drape is fluid, not firm or stiff. The only reason for a less than 5-star rating is that the yarn splits easily across the tip of the needle requiring close attention when knitting a complicated pattern, i.e., not made for watching TV at the same time. :). Still, the final product has been worth the extra effort. I've received great compliments as I work on my sweater.
Luminous colors, quality cotton which can be machine washed on gentle setting. Allows for breathable, lightweight colorful knitted hats!
Absolutely beautiful definition to cables and stitches. Colors are bright and well saturated and don't fade after washing. Win-win!!
Love this yarn! Clean clear stitches, great definition to cables and patterns. Washes like a dream. Fantastic price, not anything bad to say!!!
I use this yarn for baby hats. I am very happy with it.
The put-up is all wrong. The hanks were in bad shape even before I removed them from the package. Some were so twisted and tangled that it took a good long time to get them onto the yarn swift. For that reason alone I would never buy this yarn/thread again. Yarn dot com wanted me to send them a photograph of the yarn but I don't have a digital camera. So they said I could send the yarn back. However, postage from Canada is not cheap, and this is more than 10 hanks, some of which are a tangled, useless mess. It's not like they could rewind them and resell, so I guess they think I am lying about this problem and trying to get something for nothing. The few hanks I was able, with some difficulty, to get into a workable ball produced a fairly nice crocheted fabric but now I don't think I'll have enough yarn to finish the project. The marled (two-tone) yarn hanks were the ones which caused problems. The two solid coloured ones were OK. I do not know how the persons who packed the marled ones could fail to notice that the hanks were in bad shape right from the get-go. It looked as if the hanks had fallen out of the paper label and so they shoved them back in any old way. I'm tired of complaining, now. I'll let this go, but not deal with this company anymore.
