Tent Sale Tips

The wait is nearly over – grab your shopping list and gas up the car! Thursday-Saturday, May 16-18, 2024 WEBS will be hosting our Annual Tent Sale at our Northampton, Mass store!

This is our biggest and best event of the year, and we can’t wait! 

Tent Sale Hours:
Thursday, May 16: 10:00am-7:00pm
Friday, May 17: 10:00am-5:30pm
Saturday, May 18: 10:00am-5:30pm (Fleece Market Day!!)

If you'll be shopping in the tent, please consider coming early, wear light clothing, and bring water!

Whether this is your first time coming to Tent Sale, or a long-held tradition, keep reading for a few quick tips!

1. Plan ahead!

If you’ve never been to WEBS before, Tent Sale weekend can be daunting. Inside the store, we’re mostly set up by weight and then fiber content – so having a list AND coming with a plan of things you’d like to make is the best way to make sure you get the most out of your trip! Under the tent there will be full bags of yarn for sale, while in the classrooms and warehouse, we’ll have plenty of boxes with skeins of yarn for a major discount – so plan out what you definitely want, but leave some room for that special skein of Malabrigo! If you’re still in need of inspo, check out our website and Ravelry! We also have our WEBS discount system, where all of our customers get 20% off $60 worth of full priced yarn, and 25% off of $120 worth of full priced yarn!

2. Make Sure You’re Comfy!

Tent Sale is rain or shine! Make sure you have comfortable footwear and clothing, and bring a snack if you’re planning to spend the day. There are also tons of great restaurants within a short distance of WEBS, so while we won’t have food on site, you won’t be out of options!

3. Stop By The Fleece Market on Saturday!

Every year we host a Fleece Market in our parking lot with local vendors who bring homemade and farm-fresh items to sell. Don’t forget to take a peek at what they brought, because you could end up taking home a stunning hank of handmade yarn, or a beautiful handmade project bag to start off the summer with! Watch this space for a list of this year's vendors!

4. Pack Your Patience!

The Saturday of the Tent Sale is WEBS’s busiest day of the entire year! We will have parking attendants on hand to help you find a space to park, and an express checkout lane. Every single person who works at WEBS will be on hand to help out (we’ll be in WEBS t-shirts), but please keep in mind that the person who is helping you out may not be a store employee or even a crafter, and might need a little extra time to find you exactly what you’re looking for. If you have a specific knitting or crochet question, we please ask you to consider stopping by one of our fantastic (and free!!) drop-in lessons! There will definitely be lines, but we promise to keep it movin’ and to keep it fun!

5. We’ll Order More!

Not from Western Mass? No problem! Our website lists the total quantity of what we have in stock in our shipping warehouse, but does not reflect what we have in-store. This means that you could see something in stock online, but we may not actually have it in the store. If there’s a yarn you’re dying to have that we have in stock, but may not have in Northampton on Thursday, Friday or Saturday, let us know and we can ship it to you for free at checkout!
