Product Details
Inspired by the legend of the Melusine, a pixie-like creature from the sea who marries a man, these lacy mitts are reminiscent of the sea from whence she came. Mitts are worked in the round. The focus of the stitch pattern is on the back of the hand. The rest of the mitt is worked in twisted rib for a comfortable fit.
Difficulty: Intermediate
Size: Using a fabric measuring tape, measure the hand around the widest point. Subtract 1 inch (2.5 cm). Make the size that is closest to that measurement. This stitch is very stretchy. The small sized mitt easily stretches to comfortably fit a hand with a 7½-inch (19 cm) circumference.
Finished Measurements: 6 [7] inches; 15 [18] cm circumference
Yarn Requirements: fingering weight; 185 [220] yards; 169 [200] meters
Needles: US 1 (2.25 mm) needles
Gauge: 9 sts and 11 rows to 1 inch (2.5 cm) in twisted rib (relaxed), worked in the round
