Explore the rich textile traditions of Lithuania in this hands-on mitten-knitting class! You’ll create a pair of traditional mittens featuring a Baltic braid, knitted fringe, a peasant thumb construction, and nature-inspired motifs that reflect the beauty of Lithuanian design. Perfect for intermediate knitters, this workshop will guide you through each step of the process while introducing you to the history of knitting in Lithuania. By the end of the class, you’ll have a beautiful finished project and new skills to incorporate into future knitting endeavors. Join us for this creative journey into Baltic craftsmanship!

Format: Virtual
Prerequisite: Stitches:
Color; must be comfortable knitting colorwork in the round on small
circumferences
Materials Required:
One of the two mitten kits; there are two colorways from which to choose
US size 5 (or size needed to get gauge) needles for working in the round: DPNs, 1 long circular or two short circulars
Optional: A second set of needles if you want to work the mittens two at a time
Your knitter's tool kit
HOMEWORK:
Read pgs. 75-77 and pg. 111 of “The Art of Lithuanian Knitting".

Cancellation
Policy: For all classes, payment of full tuition is due at time of
registration. Tuition will be refunded only if the class is cancelled by WEBS,
or if there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled.
