Product Details
Soft and cozy, Malabrigo Mecha is 100% superwash wool. Mecha means "single ply" in Uruguayan Spanish and this bulky weight yarn is one strand of gently twisted wool with a light halo and oodles of color. Mecha is saturated in Malabrigo's signature deep, rich tones. Imagine this sumptuous, squishy wool worked up into a favorite sweater or stunning accessories, all so easy to care for!
Please note: Malabrigo Mecha is produced in dye lots of 10. Any order for more than 10 hanks will be of mixed dye lots. Some colors do not have any dye lots..
Hand-dyed yarns have subtle variations in colors that are natural and may vary from skein to skein. There may be differences between pictures shown and the yarn you receive. To ensure the best results for your project:
- Buy enough yarn for your entire project at one time.
- When using hand-dyed yarn in your project work two rows from one skein and two rows from another skein to give an overall blended effect.
If you have any questions or concerns about hand-dyed yarn, please contact Customer Service.

I am using for a punching with wool yarn project and it is working well
Iv purchased this yarn in the past from other stores and it was lovely. The skein I bought from Webs this time had several sections where the yarn was so fuzzy that I had to cut it and splice when it turned normal again. This is not fuzzy yarn normally. It looked like it was damaged or a “second”. Also, I realize there are no dye lots with malabrigo mecha, but I had to buy 1 skein to finish a sock pattern I misjudged and the new skein was very different in base color. So- if you use this yarn, I’d recommend being careful to buy the exact right amount, or slightly more, and maybe not from Webs. Maybe they sell cheaply bc they get second rate yarn stock??
Beautiful and soft, love it! I weave shawls and scarves with it.
Wonderful forgiving yarn in gorgeous colorways. Soft! Warm! Love it.
I like the luminous quality of this yarn. I practically glows. I also like the fleecy texture of this non-plied yarn.
Easy to work with, very soft, beautiful colors!
