Valley Yarns Welcome to the Table Mat is a draft for classy and elegant placemats that combine several different rigid heddle techniques for a very striking look. The central diamond is created with clasped weft, and the borders feature a row of leno lace. It’s fun to weave and a great way to take plain weave to new heights.
Equipment: Rigid Heddle loom at least 15” wide, 10 dent reed, 2 shuttles, pick-up stick at least 16” long, fork for pressing Leno Lace in place, 1” spacer (cut up a manila file folder for this)
Warp Yarn: 411 yards Valley Yarns Goshen (48% Peruvian Cotton/ 46% Modal/ 6% Silk; 50g/92yds) shown in 8039 Fawn – (5 skeins)
Weft Yarn:
