Product Details
Valley Yarns 8/2 Tencel® is a wonderful weaving yarn well suited to any project that requires drape and sheen. We've created a beautiful selection of rich colors in addition to the natural option. Try it on its own or with another fiber to create an array of interesting color combinations and textures. Manufactured in Canada and dyed in the USA.
Note: This yarn is sold in whole cones. Wind-offs are not available for this yarn. On average, cones weigh ~1lb but vary and can range between 0.8lbs to 1.3lbs. If you need a minimum weight on the cone, please include that request in the special comments box during the checkout process. We will do our best to accommodate but cannot guarantee specific cone weights.
Color Cards and Color Books for this yarn are available and 8/2 Tencel® is also available in Tonal and Variegated colorways.

I love 8/2 Tencel, but I had to wait months for 2 cones they, along with about 35 other colors were out of stock.
Used this yarn as a carry along to bulk up a very thin yarn. It worked very well!
There seems to be a problem keeping 8/2 tencel in stock. When it became available I was shorted a significant amount on two occasions. I paid for 1 pound cones and got less. Apparently the new owners don’t care to weigh the cones they send out, then on both occasions it took days to get a refund AND I had to PROVE that the cones were short by send pictures of the cones on a scale. That was insulting. I have been a Webs customer for decades but I am not inclined to continue with that relationship if customer service is this bad.
Love the fiber and price
I use this yarn often. It is lustrous, strong and takes dyes well. Lovely addition to my weaving yarns. Looks fabulous with silk yarns or all on its own.
I use this in most of my weaving - it's a great yarn.
I love the finish and feel and colors of the tencel. My only negative is that when using it in warp, I tend to get a lot of broken threads while working, particularly at the selvedges. I am going to do some research and see if perhaps I could do something differently to prevent this. I’ve already tried doubling the ends, but that hasn’t worked yet. The colors are bright and steadfast and the quality of the thread is consistent brought the cone.
Actually, I'm frustrated with Webs in general. For all the effort this company puts into making sure I shop with them, they so frequently do not have the colors of yarn I am looking for that I've started to look elsewhere for my product. For Christmas, I had my 4 children each pick out a color of their choice from Webs so I could make dishtowels (not tencel, obviously), and ended up with 3 tubes of red and 2 of burgundy, because that's all they could buy. Tired of weaving things in the colors Webs has available and want to start weaving in the colors of my choosing!
Met my expectations.
I understand the store has been sold. I’ve always enjoyed shopping there. I hope the same continues.
